About
Combining technical mastery, expressive depth, and performance experience, pianist Alon Goldstein, violinist Ilya Kaler, and cellist Amit Peled joined forces in 2007 to form one of the most exciting piano trios on the international concert scene. Each virtuoso member of the ensemble has a successful solo career and together they bring vitality to the concert stage with their dynamic musical interplay and collaborative spirit. The trio has been recently compared by critics to the legendary “Million Dollar Trio” of Arthur Rubinstein, Gregor Piatigorsky, and Jascha Heifetz.
The Tempest Trio has performed in cities throughout the United States, Europe, Asia and the Middle East. The trio’s interpretations of beloved masterworks from the canon combined with a passion for new music and hidden gems of the repertoire has garnered enthusiastic critical acclaim. In 2016, the Tempest Trio was ensemble-in-residence at the Heifetz International Music Institute in Virginia as well as at the Cape Cod Chamber Music Festival. Recent recordings include the complete Dvorak Piano Trios on the Naxos recording label of which Fanfare wrote “…may well be the best Dvořák ‘Dumky’ on disc ever.”
As committed pedagogues, the members of the Tempest Trio teach in prestigious universities and summer festivals around the world and share their knowledge, experience and joy of music through intensive educational residencies, masterclasses and lectures which they offer in collaboration with presenters each season.
